Last week's purchases/pick-ups: Jazzanova & Dirk Rumpff ...Broadcasting and...
Rhymefest is able to do what major label marketing firms have failed at doing, and that's trim Jackson of the tabloid drama and bring the focus back to his music. Rhymefest sets out right away to humanize Jackson, and bring him down to earth, portraying him as a simple man from Gary, Ind., one who still has the power to unite a desperate community (see "Mike the Mentor"). He also inter-splices the album with brief, but always humorous, "conversations" with Jackson, in which Rhymefest's inserts himself into dialogue from Jackson interviews.

Song of the week (that wasn't from the rhymefest mixtape):

Comments
I absolutly love how Rhymefest pays homage to Mr. Jackson by incorperating clips from interviews into valuable converstions with the artist. It is very true that many artists have mimiced Mr. Jackson's dance moves and incoporated samples of his music into their's as well as learned from his awsome chorographed preformances and legacy. His artistry and importance should not or dare I say can not be negated by any bad press. I am a M.J. fan from way back. The Off the Wall album is still awsome! When it came out my aunt taught me how to do the rock which became my signature dance. I had the M.J. doll and a pair of glittery socks. I heard that M.J. asked Janet to go on a reunion tour with the Jackson clan, but J.D. advised her to do otherwise because of the artists bad publicity. If true shame on you J.D. Mike is the King of pop there is none higher. Shummon Ya'll
