Jason! I can't tell you how deeply I miss LA, including my Koreatown apartment, where I'd shoo peeing drunk men away from my back gate. "Unlovely corners of the city" was written with affection, if not longing.

I know, Carolyn! I always just try to reprazent for barrio Van Nuys whether it deserves it or not. We miss your brightly colored head in LA as well. Are you still in NYC for the Book Expo? Will you be back in NYC for the book festival at the end of the month? I'm coming East for a week and that's my first stop.
