Are you using Skype as a long-distance substitute? Or are you using it as more of an audio chat room? I used it for awhile to talk to friends overseas, but now that they're stateside, I'd forgotten about it until another friend mentioned that he uses it to chat with a bunch of his friends from a message board.
mostly I'm using skype because I hate the phone but love computers and this is probably the only way people who only use phones will have a chance of actually talking to me. My parents started using it when my dad went on a trip to Japan and that was the impetus for me finally bowing to the pressure and trying it out.
