Speakeasy: Smoking Thrills

Comments

When I worked in (college) radio, I male listeners would call me up and *constantly* tell me how much they liked my voice. I was a smoker then (of tobacco and other products), but I stopped while I was still on the air. A couple of months after stopping, the calls stopped coming.

Apparently, smoker's voices are an advantage for women who work in radio. Just about all of the professional female DJs I knew at the time were smokers, and almost to a woman they all said that the smoky voice is what helped them get -- and hold onto -- a gig.
[this is good]
You know...I try to overlook his smoking, because I do love him so.
