Summer Viewin'
With the first of my Summer series premiering this week -- So You Think You Can Dance -- and being in this weird in-between time on television where the departing Heroes and LOST may find my Tivo Top Ten looking incredibly odd (The Sopranos may be battling Celebrity Fit Club for the #1 slot), I'm curious: What are you going to be watching this Summer?
(I'm also curious about how I will justify to myself the use of so many grammar gimmicks in that opening sentence but since I'm getting all parenthetical right now, obviously, I'm going with it.)
So, of course, The Closer returns soon and, despite my frustrations with last season, I'll be back on board with The 4400 but when The Sopranos, The Shield and Entourage start wrapping up in June, what else is there?
And, sure, this is a great opportunity to turn off the telly and focus on learning how to DJ or what neighborhood I might choose in San Francisco or get to the bulk of the work in writing my family history (and I will be doing those things) but, come on, I'm a proud TV Junkie.
I sleep with the Squawk Box on so pony up and give me your Summer Must-See-TV.
Thanks.

Big Love on HBO...and I guess I'll try their new shows..
I gave up on 4400 last year...I usually give the Big Bro house a shot till the people start working my nerves...
Oh...and The Closer, too...even though I still have that 2 hour special eppy from December on the DVR...still waiting to be watched.
The 4400, disappointing last year but I want to give it another shot
Big Love, really curious to see how they handle year 2
Rescue Me, on a very probationary basis
And I'll try most of the new offerings HBO is going to put out though the previews for them haven't gotten me excited.
Rescue Me got too depressing for me by the end of the first season. I haven't been back since.
I don't watch Big Brother. I just go to the Big Brother wrap party every year :-)
Anything else of interest this summer? I think I'll be spending a little more time with the Discovery and History channels. Any recommendations there?
Is anything on besides repeats?
History Detectives is a big hit with my boyfriend and his guy friends. Mystery Diagnosis on TLC is a bit creepy but it's incredible how these docs manage to diagnose people.
Corwin's Quest and Emergency Vets (E-vet interns is the new takeoff) on Animal Planet are very good.
We VEOH'd all the new Dr. Whos and we will be watching season 3 of Lexx as well.
Denis Leary deserves an Emmy for Rescue Me. Its that good. But yeah...too much bad shit happens to him...luckily the comedy balances it nicely.
As far as Discovery...I usually just check their Sunday evening lineup...usually when they premiere the biggies. Haven't heard much about the summer though....
