VOTD: SWV
This video is so early nineties. It looks like it was ripped right out of New Jack City or an episode of New York Undercover. The song itself is brilliant. It doesn't really get going until the third verse almost 3 minutes in but, at that point, it's too much. When they harmonize, "Something 'bout the way you do the things you do ooh ooh ooh it...knocks me right off of my feet," I'm just done.
I want to be rockin' jean jackets and cross color jeans and pristine caps with flat rims and possibly a metal X on the front that's hiding my flat-top fade.
"Can't explain why your lovin' makes me weak..."
Damn.

You did NOT whip out the X hat. I might pay money to go back in time and see that. Of course, I'd have to dig out my jeans with the continent of Africa drawn on one leg...
(were they acid-washed?)
this song reminds me of my high school days when I'd start the day off listening to the Wild 107 morning show, Mancow in the Morning. Whenever he introduced this song, he always named the band "Single White Vato" -- a little sketch, now that I think about it.
If you're still down with the early 90s 'nissin (reminiscing?) you check out this Pharcyde video that someone posted. It takes me back. Oh, and don't forget Mary J.
