And I welcome more serious, thoughtful feedback of the kind Jason's giving. And guy dating bloggers, I would love to read more of those. I was really interested in the idea behind Girlfriend 07 and I think the idea Cory brought up about guys not having as much free public space to "be guys" (not his words, but mine) is very true. So thank you, Jason, for coming to the panel and I hope provoking some discussion about the topics discussed there.

Finally.

I've owned the domain since 2005. The plan had been to retire negroplease.com a month ago and redirect it to this but life got in the way.

It isn't anything special but it does what I want it to do. You'll notice I'm still using a blog template even though it isn't a blog. The styling will likely change soon. Tonight was just about content and construction. Digging into the CSS is not for this evening.

I used a wordpress template that I edited in dreamweaver mx. I popped open style master for quick reference to the styles I planned on using. There are two 3rd party javascript badges and 2 flash badges. I may add the google reader javascript badge as well. I haven't decided how I'm going to present the np archives which is why they aren't up there.

Now to go about updating all my virtual identities. Tomorrow.

Now it's time for BSG and The Amazing Race All-Stars.

Jason earned bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and film from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. Certified in Final Cut Pro and DVD Pro, Jason specializes in documentary-style film. He prefers the role of editor but has participated in all areas of film production and leads Limelite’s videography services. Jason recently expanded his passion for capturing images into the role of photographer. In addition to creating portraits of Limelite clients, Jason also captures images for his own personal collection, which will appear at the Limelite Studios gallery in July 2005. When away from the camera, Jason can be found indulging in his other passion, music.

Tuesday night it was drinks at The Standard Downtown with Julie Daman and Sarah Atwood of Almost There¹, and last night Zadi Diaz and Steve Woolf from JETSET² joined me and fellow fomer Gothamist network editor Jason Toney for dinner at the Vermont Restaurant in Silver Lake. Both meetings yielded tricks and tips from people who are producing video content for online distribution.

Big Ups to Mr. West for putting together my techno-hippest meal of the week. I stuck with Iced Tea and Water to go with my Blackened Salmon and Citrus Salad so I don't think I gave away any trade secrets.

Zadi, Steve and Felicia were most excellent dinner companions along with JW.

I need to nerd out more often.

In a pretty dismal year for hip-hop, local hip-hop head Peanut Butter Wolf and his Stones Throw label put out some of their best work ever and the absolute top of my overall best list for the year are two of their releases. So I said to myself, "Self, you've got an LA record label making LA records. Make a list."
