Gee whiz, it's Christmas.
If you’re expecting some chilled drum and bass number - forget it. For whilst this may be relatively down tempo there isn’t so much as a whisper of danceworthy beats to be found anywhere. Les Fleur is a cover of the staggering Minnie Ripperton track from over a few decades ago, and although they stick faithfully to the original 4 Hero manage to come up with a spine tingling, monster – orchestra sweeps, full blown choirs, and trumpets. A beautiful and at the same time triumphant release. Gorgeous.
Continuing on my Mecca & The Soul Brother kick, today we've got them with very recent releases completely independent of each other.
C.L. Smooth hits us with the title track of his solo project. No Pete Rock anywhere to be found.
